“It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.”
If there is anything that these dark times have taught us, it is that humans are in fact only seldom in charge of their situation. That we form an inconceivably small part of the universe, and that no matter how ahead we think we have come, the universe has a big hat full of tricks of randomness that no one can anticipate or control.
But it’s good. It’s humbling. It reminds us of our smallness. It tells us that, it’s not about us. This is not our story. This is the universe’s story, we are merely the actors.
So how do we live this transient intractable life? Lightly as Huxley says, we must tread lightly. Take a deep breath, take things as they come, and remember that nothing matters (that) much!
